“We are a spirit, we are a natural part of the earth, and all of our ancestors, all of our relations who have gone to the spirit world, they are here with us. That’s power. They will help us. They will help us to see if we are willing to look. We are not separated from them because there’s no place to go – we stay here. This is our place: the earth. This is our mother: we will not go away from our mother. – John Trudell
When you live in Zimbabwe or in all Southern Africa you know that we use the word Bush to define a place in the wild. Actually Bush equals Wilderness.

In the past few years I kept receiving the message that until humans fully believe that they belong to Nature, believe that they are part of it instead of separated from it; they won’t understand that caring for the Earth means ultimately taking care of themselves.
If this behavior stays the same, this planet is not going to be preserved and then…
What will we leave to our children?
What will we leave to our children?
I had a sense that this had to start with myself first. I had to re-connect to the Earth in a much deeper way; I had to make sure that my roots were standing strong. I grew up by the sea and water was my way to connect. That was lost when I moved to Zimbabwe as it is a land-locked country.
One day I found this watercolor jewel on the internet and I immediately understood that this was my new direction!
Unlearn, Rewild!
This is now my Mantra.

Get out of your mind, walk bare foot, get your hands dirty…
Make the Elements your allies
Unlearn, Rewild…is my reason to go into the wild as much as I can and whenever I can. I am blessed to have friends who share the same love for the Wilderness. Together we have started to organize retreats into the Bush and Sacred Places of Zimbabwe’s ancient land.
Many retreats are in National Parks like Gonarezhou, the place of the elephants, Matopo, Victoria Falls called in the traditional language, Mosi-oa-Tunya, the smoke that thunders, Chinhoyi Caves, Nyanga, Great Zimbabwe, Chimanimani. We learn indigenous Knowledge from all over Zimbabwe.
Sometimes we have the privilege to be guided by Baba Mandaza Kadenmwa. He’s a Mondhoro, a traditional healer, a ritualist, based in Bulawayo who guides you to experience Nature and a communion with your Ancestral lineage. His laughter is disarming and contagious!
“Look deep into nature, and then you will understand everything better.” ~ Albert Einstein

Intensely liberating, these retreats will leave you with lasting joy and a burning love for life!
This untouched wilderness nurtures your soul, bringing you closer to your own essence. These retreats are deeply transformational. You’ll reach home, within; awakening all your senses.
